During today's Palm Press Conference in Munich, I had the first chance to get my hands on the brand new Palm Treo 500v, which Palm announced today for some parts of Europe and South Africa. One thing in advance, Palm and Vodafone are targeting the consumer mass-market with the device and therefore it cannot compete with similar Windows Mobile Smartphones like the Samsung SGH-i600 which has a better feature-set but is also more expensive. No, Vodafone is expected to price the device fairly low and therefore, I'm sure, the Palm Treo 500v will find its customers as well. At least it's not so bad looking as many thought first:

Should be 64 MB RAM.

So, what about SMS application? Is it in a thread mode or not?

No, it's definitely not! I've explicitly asked Palm about it and it was confirmed that it is the standard Windows Mobile SMS application.
