Following
HTC's earlier HTC
Advantage X7510 announcement
from last February, I've recently received HTC's latest reincarnation of the
HTC Advantage
which now features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, an increased 16 GB solid
state disk storage and an improved keyboard with haptic feedback. The updated
HTC Advantage includes HTC's customized HTC Today screen, as seen first with the
HTC Touch, that provides one-touch access to E-Mails, SMS text messages, missed
calls, calendar appointments and contacts, current weather conditions
and forecasts as well it now features HTC's
TouchFLO software
for enhanced finger touch scrolling and browsing of Web pages.
Like its forerunner, the X7510 features a Marvell CPU at 624 MHz which takes
- according to HTC - benefit from Qualcomm's ATI graphic chip, quadband
GSM/GPRS/EDGE, triband UMTS/HSDPA up to 1.8 Mbps as well as Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi
b/g and GPS. In addition to the massive 16 GB of memory, the X7510 includes 128
MB RAM and 256 MB ROM. The 5" touchscreen supports VGA and the autofocus main
camera on the back supports 3 megapixel.
With its innovative built-in video output capability, the HTC Advantage
empowers its users with freedom to make presentations anywhere. Users can run
presentations directly via the projector and TV output and the magnetic QWERTY
keyboard is ideal not just for editing Microsoft Office documents, but also for
enjoying leisure time. Users can watch videos, browse the web with Opera Mobile
9.5 and navigate anywhere with inbuilt GPS and preinstalled Google Maps Mobile.
Unfortunately, even if available in English and supporting all two North
American GSM and two UMTS frequencies, the X7510 will not be released in the
U.S. due to
Broadcom's dispute with Qualcomm. The X7510 uses one of the Qualcomm radio
chips which is
forbidden to be sold in North America now.
Cheers ~ Arne
