One
of the Windows Mobile 6 partners, Microsoft recently announced is Taiwanese ODM
Giga-Byte Communication which sells its Windows Mobile devices under the G-Smart
brand.
Giga-Byte is well known for it Windows Mobile TV solutions but so far, only
analogue TV devices were available from Giga-Byte.
However, during the 3GSM World Congress, Giga-Byte unveiled a couple of new
Windows Mobile 6 devices which features digital terrestrial TV and the first one
is the G-Smart t600.
The t600 is a Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone sporting triband GSM/GPRS,
WiFi b/g as well as Bluetooth 2.0. With a size of 1105x55.5.18.5 mm it's
featuring a 2.6" VGA touch screen. Powered by an XScale CPU at 520 MHz, it has
256 MB ROM and 96 MB RAM which can be extended through microSD memory card.
So far, it's just a great Pocket PC Phone Edition (please keep the VGA screen in
mind). However, the real highlight is its TV support which is either DVB-H or
DVB-T as well as it can support T-DMBand DAB radio. This means, you can
virtually watch live TV wherever you get either the one or the other
coverage/system supported. In addition, you can even connect the t600 to a TV to
watch TV on a real screen:

According to Giga-Byte, the G-Smart t600 is released early Q2 in Taiwan
first, followed by a later launch in early summer in Europe. A price wasn't
announced yet and also operator partnerships aren't announced so far but I
definitely hope we will see this becoming available for a broader range since
it's definitely a nice sized and feature packed Windows Mobile smartphone.
