CHECKING IN AND THOUGHTS: Alfredo Padilla, Contributing Editor (In Training)
Posted by Alfredo Padilla - at 19:22 CET under 06 - Site News

Hello folks, I'd just like to introduce myself as one of the new contributing editors for the:unwired. I have been using Windows Mobile devices for about 2 years now, I started with the venerable HP 4150, and lately have used the HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) and am now using the HTC Faraday (Cingular 2125). Click on the links for my reviews of both those devices. I'd also like to share a few thoughts about my dream device with you, after the jump.

One of the things that has happened in the past year is that we have seen a proliferation of Windows Mobile devices, mostly from HTC, but with a few others thrown in for good measure. There has been the development of exciting new form factors such as the sliding keyboard (HTC Wizard/TyTn), slim clamshell (HTC Star Trek) and smartphone with qwerty keyboard (Motorola Q). However, despite these developments, I must say that none of these devices hits my "sweet spot". I love the devices I've used, but what I'm looking for just does not exist yet.

SITE: Check-in as a Contributing Editor for the::unwired
Posted by Arne Hess - at 20:02 CET under 06 - Site News

Yes, it's right - the::unwired needs and wants *you* because I'm looking to expand the::unwired! Over the past years, the::unwired became one of the top sites for Windows Mobile related stuff and I want to continue to make it even better, fresher and more up-to-date but I can not handle it alone anymore, together with the current part time contributors.
So if you feel yourself like a reviewer, a news crawler, a thinker, a whatever, it's your chance to become an editor of the::unired now!
In detail, I'm looking for a handful new contributors who:

SITE: Browse the::unwired from your Microsoft Windows Media Center 2005 PC
Posted by Arne Hess - at 18:54 CET under 06 - Site News

Since my first Pocket PC sites back in 1998, it was always important for me to make my site available across all Microsoft platform and today, you can access and use the::unwired on the run from your Pocket PC, Smartphone and most other WAP 2.0 devices like you would access it from your PC.
Anyway, what you wasn't able to do so far was accessing it from your Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition PC or say you couch, at least not from the MCE UI which you can do from now.
All you have to do is to download the ZIP file bellow, unpack it on your PC and save "theunwired.mcl" on your Windows Media Center Edition PC under:
