APPROVAL: GCF approves Huawei W5101 - Next Windows Phone in Ahead?
Posted by Arne Hess - at 11:52 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) just approved the Huawei W5101 and as the name indicates, it might be Huawei's next Windows Phone, the Chinese manufacturer might unveil during next month's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. While nothing is confirmed, so far all Huawei Windows Phones started with a "W", and for sure the GCF is also pretty mum with further information. Nevertheless, we now know - thanks to the approval - that the W5101 is a quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE device which also supports dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz and - surprisingly enough - triband LTE at 800/1800/2600 MHz which indicates that the W5101 is made for Europe.

GOODY: Microsoft thanks its Windows Phone Customers with 20 GB of free Microsoft SkyDrive Storage
Posted by Arne Hess - at 13:46 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Last night, Microsoft sent out an E-Mail to its Windows Phone customers where the the Redmond-based software giant thanks its customers by showing its "appreciation of Windows Phone customers" by giving them an extra 20 GB of free SkyDrive cloud storage. This is in addition to the 7 GB of free SkyDrive storage that all Windows Phone customers have at last. SkyDrive is built into Windows Phone, as it is in Windows 8.1, and similar to Dropbox, Box or Google Drive, it's a personal online storage that is accessible along with the photos and files at SkyDrive.com and through the SkyDrive mobile app. However, this goody has one drawback since it's only good for one year after that it expires.
