INTERNET EXPLORER: ReenSoft releases PIEPlus for PPC2000 and PPC2002
Posted by Carlo Guerrero - at 06:25 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

ReenSoft has a solution to make your Pocket PC 2000 and Pocket PC 2002 devices perform better when viewing web pages designed for desktop PC viewing. This is not for WM2003 Pocket PCs though and surely those who are not able to upgrade to WM2003 will find this attractive. ReenSoft's PIEPlus adds several features to Pocket Internet Explorer like optimizing web page to fit in screen, multiple windows, full screen mode and more.

What makes PIEPlus unique is that it has what ReenSoft calls the Pocket Web Optimizer. It adjusts content to fit the PIE screen and minimizes the need for horizontal scrolling of the screen. While it does this with a lot of web pages, some pages may retain the horizontal scroll bar even though with PWO activated.

SMARTPHONE 2002: New PPCW.Net i-Mates arrived today and ready for shipping
Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:01 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

As I had to announce on July 31st the PPCW.Net i-Mate Smartphone 2002 was temporary out of stock or better said: "sold out"... ;-)
However, as promised I awaited a new batch of devices to arrive mid of August. Okay, it's a little bit later now (I've missed the goal for 4 days only, not bad ;-)) but today the new batches arrived and the Smartphone is ready for immediate shipping (normally within 24 hours after I received payments).
So no reason to whine that still no Smartphone is available in your Country because here you get it - as before - SIM Free (no SIM lock so it works with any GSM 900, 1800 or 1900 MHz SIM card/network) and without any application locks which allows you to install virtually every Smartphone software (doesn't matter if code-signed or not) on your device.

Hacks like these are not supported or documented in any way by Microsoft or the device manufacturers! Only the truly dedicated like Chris De Herrera ferret them out for the rest of us to enjoy! For example, one of the most popular hacks that RegKing offers is the one that makes Pocket Internet Explorer pretend to be Internet Explorer 5.x.
