Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:59 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

John Psuik of Developer One just informed me about their latest Power Tasks for Smartphone update which is available as a Beta now.

According to John, the most common request for both Power Calendar and Power Tasks has now been addressed and that is a greatly improved way to quickly select contacts when inserting contact names/numbers into task subjects!

Power Tasks v1.9 beta now features the same type of contact navigation built-in to the Smartphone where you may now easily use the numeric keypad to spell out a name and instantly locate matching contacts and select them (Microsoft calls it smart-dial) for inserting into a task. Perfect for those with long contact lists!

<BEEP> from <BEEP> just told me they are ready to release <BEEP x.y> next week and we created the idea to have a raffle on PPCW.Net.
<BEEP> is sponsoring two coupons, worth of US$ 30 each, if you can guess from whom and which (new) program the following screenshot is from. Best of all - all participants can win, doesn't matter if you think you know it or if you are just guessing!

1. If you definitely know it, please just answer "Yes" but do not say what it is to give ability for others to guess and to win too (for example if you participated into the non-public Beta test).

2. If you do not have it yet, try to guess what it could be.

Just as a reminder, the i-mate Smartphone2 (also known as Qtek 8080) is based on the same hardware platform like the Qtek 8060 - the HTC Voyager. However, for any reason HTC decided to design two different shapes of the same device while the features are the same.

CUSTOMIZATION: Tweak your Smartphone with RJV RegTweaks
Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:03 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

If you come from the Pocket PC, you might know RegKing which helps you tweaking your Pocket PC Registry (and by the way - now RegKing is available for Pocket PC 2003 also).

These Registry tweaks or hacks are little-known settings and tricks that you can use to improve the performance of your Windows based device (doesn't matter if XP for Desktops or Mobile for Pocket PCs and Smartphones). "Registry" refers to a database of system settings used by all versions of the Windows operating systems.
Hacks like these are not supported or documented in any way by Microsoft or the device manufacturers and therefore it's always a risk if you tewak your Registry yourself. Much safer is using a tool which tweaks the registry for you.
