APPROVED: FCC approved the HTC Wizard
Posted by Arne Hess - at 00:21 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Okay, this is my last HTC Wizard posting for the next, let's say 12 hours? ;-) Looks like this week is the Wizard week and the latest news is coming from the FCC where the Wizard received the approval from.

The FCC also states a possible release date of the Wizard which could be anytime mid of September. In the past, it happened too often that unannounced devices leaked through the FCC, including the photos of the device and therefore the FCC changed its policy when they publish information and make all information available. For the photos, the FFC says "09/09/2005" from where the photos will be available for everybody. Right now, if you try to access the photos or the users manuals, you get a server error message.

Posted by Arne Hess - at 18:51 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Spb Software House today announced the release of Spb Pocket Plus 3.0 for immediate availability, a major new version of the award-winning bestselling Pocket PC application.

As great as the Pocket PC OS is, there are a lot of missing components that many Pocket PC users consider as seriously needed in a mobile platform. These are simple things, like a close button that really closes, the ability to open multiple windows in Pocket Internet Explorer, the ability to view file properties in File Explorer, a task manager, the ability to place shortcuts on the Today screen, among many others. Spb Pocket Plus always was and still is the utility that enhances all aspects of the Pocket PC operation system. For many Pocket PC users Spb Pocket Plus is the first program they install to a new device and many of them consider it as a service pack for the Pocket PC OS.

TESTING: Solve Technology is looking for ST Invoice Beta testers
Posted by Arne Hess - at 08:55 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Two weeks ago I wrote about ST Pocket Invoice which is a solution that will solve all the invoicing problems of a true-blue mobile professional. The solution is a Pocket PC and Web-based application which makes invoicing easy, quick, safe, transparent, and convenient. Users can create an invoice on their Pocket PC, process the payment via the Internet on the spot and send the invoice directly to the client using the Internet. The client, upon receiving the invoice, can pay the invoice amount online using a credit card if not already paid. Credit card payments are highly secure, with all the transaction data protected by strong, industry standard encryption. You can also process payments on-site. The application captures the electronic signature made by the client using a Pen-on electronic invoice displayed on the Pocket PC screen. This signature validates the payment made by the client. As soon as the payment is made, a thank-you mail is sent to client acknowledging the invoice payment. All this helps make payments quick, easy, and safe.

There are just too many complaints like "my invoice amount is wrong", "I already paid this amount", "the processing is too time-consuming", "I want to see my previous payment details" and so on. Moreover, the complete process of invoicing is so lengthy and error prone, that it often leaves a customer anything but satisfied.
