ALIVE: The Samsung SGH-i320 is not dead but further developed
Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:51 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Ok, sometimes it might help to rant, like my latest rant about the Samsung SGH-i320 Windows Mobile Smartphone, the GSM competitor to the Motorola Q (which will be initially launched in a ECDO version only). I was wondering what happened with it during the CeBIT since it wasn't at the Samsung stand and already had the fear that it might disappears like the Motorola MPx and MPx100 before but no - it's still alive!
This week I had the chance to spend another 20 minutes with a well working prototype (unfortunately I hadn't had my camera with me - note to myself: always carry the camera with you). Also I got confirmed, the SGH-i320 will be released (at least in Europe, haven't heard anything yet about North America) and as I said, it was a further development of what we have seen the first time during the 3GSM Congress back in February.

SURFACED: Verizon-branded Motorola Q appeared on the Verizon Wireless server
Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:42 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

However "Qusers" managed to find this image, it's on the Verizon Wireless server. And since my fellow MVP Mike from Smartphone Thoughts already "spent the last hour tooling around the site and he couldn't find a single hint of the Q", I will not try the same just to get the same result.
Nevertheless, this seems to be the first real indication that Verizon Wireless might be getting ready to finally release Motorola Q I had the chance to play with the first time back in December last year (and see some comparison-photos to its strongest competitor - the Samsung SGH-i320 here).

AVAILABILITY: Samsung SGH-i300x on sale now
Posted by Arne Hess - at 17:12 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Looks like the Samsung SGH-i300x wasn't just a marketing fake but real, at least one company is selling and shipping it worldwide now: Singapore-based
It's selling the "International English Version" of the i300x (you remember - the i300 refresh with a 4GB HDD which surfaced back in January) for around US$ 699.99 plus shipping costs. Unfortunately isn't saying which Windows Mobile version the i300x is about (Windows Mobile 2003SE vs. Windows Mobile 5.0) nor they are saying a word about the user interface languages (English can be expected but is it US or UK English and what's with the other languages like German, French, Spanish, etc).
