|
During
the CTIA Wireless, which is currently happening in Orlando, Engadget Mobile and
Mobility Site got its hands on the HTC S720 - HTC's CDMA version of the HTC Vox
aka HTC S710.
While both devices are running on Microsoft's Windows Mobile Smartphone
platform, the S710 was announced to be released with Windows Mobile 6 while the
(so far not officially announced) S720, Engadget Mobile and Mobility Site got in
its hands, is currently running Windows Mobile 5 only. Other differences are,
that the S710 is a GSM/GPRS/EDGE quadband smartphone while the S720 sports
CDMA's EV-DO standard. Not sure why the S720 became so squarish but I like the

|
Have
you ever heard of the HTC Panda? No? Doesn't matter, because now you can see
another unknown HTC Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition. We've just received
two photos of an engineering sample and as it looks, the HTC Panda is the real
successor of the HTC Alpine. Running on Windows Mobile 5.0 (or maybe 6.0 if not
released yet), the HTC Panda is powered by a Samsung CPU at 400 MHz and features a 3.5" TFT display and is expected to
sport 256 MB ROM and 64 MB 128 RAM. However, unfortunately the Panda seems to be a
pure 2.5G device by supporting triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE only (while leaving 850 MHz
support). On the other hand, the device is expected to feature WiFi b/g and
Bluetooth 2.0. Last but not least, the device features a 2 megapixel camera:

Basically, the Kaiser is the follower of the HTC Hermes but like with the
Wizard/Herald update, the Kaiser is expected to be thinner as well as it should gets an improved feature-set including a 3 megapixel camera, GPS, GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA & HSUPA plus WiFi and Bluetooth and for sure it's running on Windows Mobile 6. Interesting is the keyboard mechanism which seems to array the display as well as it seems to just slide out:

UPDATE: Syncdate released SmartphoneNotes 2.1 with support of Windows Vista

|
Finally, one of my all-time favorite Windows Mobile Smartphone (Standard) applications
got the long awaited update to work with Windows Vista again: Syncdata
SmartphoneNotes.
Even with the release of Windows Mobile 6, Microsoft left support of Outlook
Notes which means if you are using this handy digital "Post-it's" as much as I
do, you cannot sync them with your Windows Mobile Smartphone device because
there is no application on Windows Mobile Smartphones like it is available for
Windows Mobile Pocket PCs. Thankfully there is this handy application which
jumped in to close the gap.

All the other features are staying the same like featuring a semi slide-out
QWERTZ (keep in mind it's the German version) keyboard, supporting quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE
(even if O2 Germany isn't supporting EDGE in its own network). as well as the Xda terra is sporting a 2 megapixel camera on the back:

RUMOR: Is the Motorola MOTO Q q9 coming to AT&T
|
|
Posted by Arne Hess - at 18:17 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News
|
There's
not too much to say except that Engadget Mobile received a grainy
(looking) Photoshop rendering which shows a Motorola MOTO Q q9 with an AT&T logo on the
back.
For sure, we have seen live photos of a Motorola MOTO
Q q9 with a Vodafone logo before as well (but haven't heard any official
announcements yet) so it might be just a Motorola rendering for a AT&T
presentation, how such a customized device can look like.
Some might think now, that it doesn't makes sense for AT&T to launch another
keyboard-styled Windows Mobile Smartphone (the
previously mentioned SMT5700) together with the Motorola MOTO Q q9, on the
other hand, the SMT5700 seems to support 2.75G (EDGE) only, while the q9
supports UMTS as well as HSDPA so both devices definitely targets two different
markets with (I'm sure) different price points.

While the overall look and feel reminds on an HTC Excalibur and the keyboard

Not too much is known yet, except that the QWERTY-equipped Windows Mobile 5
Smartphone features a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD slot, ant it seems that it
