Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:04 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

While we are still waiting for the official HTC Diamond announcement (most likely we will hear more on May 6), T-Mobile previewed its version of the HTC Diamond, aka the MDA compact IV, during last month's CeBIT in Hanover already. And now O2 Germany followed with a pre-announcement that its next Xda Windows Mobile smartphone will be called "O2 Xda diamond".
So far, O2 only unveiled that its Xda diamond will be black and featuring a big touchscreen as well as HSDPA and GPS. But if it is based on the HTC Diamond, which T-Mobile's MDA compact IV is also expected to be based on, it's somewhat confirmed, that the Xda diamond will also features a 3 megapixel autofocus camera, 4 GB internal memory, a VGA touchscreen and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional.

While on the top row we see the HTC TyTN II, the HTC Touch Cruise and the HTC Touch, on the lower row we have 2nd from left the HTC P3470 but left and right to it at least 2 unknown devices:

It took a little bit longer (in Europe, the HTC Touch Dual was introduced back in October last year already) but the U.S. will finally get its version of the Touch Dual as well. The HTC NEON300 just cleared the FCC and it will be a real power-horse, featuring Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional which is powered by a 400 MHz CPU which is backed-up by 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM. Like the European version, the North American Touch Dual will also feature Bluetooth 2.0 and will misses WiFi (again) but will support 850 and 1900 MHz UMTS/HSDPA. RUMOR: Is the Samsung SGH-i780 coming to the U.S. as the SGH-i788?
Posted by Arne Hess - at 14:33 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

Engadget Mobile found a new Samsung phone, listed by the FCC which is called the Samsung SGH-i788. Unfortunately not too much is known yet but remember, Samsung uses "SGH" for GSM and UMTS smartphones while "i" is used for its Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 smartphones. And if you compare FCC's drawing of the SGH-i788 with the SGH-i780, it looks quite similar. Furthermore, while Samsung tried to hide details of the drawing, if you scroll the FFC PDF quite fast, you can see a square camera whole, centered on the top with a speaker right to it (on the left the SGH-i780, on the right the unmasked SGH-i788):
