ENHANCED: Nokia announces couple of Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT Enhancements and Instagram for Windows Phone

Last but not least, Nokia announced during today's Nokia World, that it will continue to enhance innovation through applications and therefore, Nokia announced a couple of new upcoming Windows Phone 8 and Windows RT 8.1 services and enhancements. Nokia Video Director allows to create, edit and share customized videos directly from the Lumia 2520 while Nokia Beamer allows to share experiences and ideas easily and instantly with friends or colleagues by projecting the phone screen to any HTML5 enabled screen; this includes documents, maps, location details, or even the camera viewfinder. Nokia Storyteller is automatically integrating photos from the phone with HERE location information and collates a chronological picture journey on a map.

UNVEILED: Nokia announces its first Windows RT 8.1 Tablet - the Nokia Lumia 2520

Next to its two new Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, Nokia also unveiled its first Windows RT 8.1 tablet at today's Nokia World in Abu Dhabi - the Nokia Lumia 2520. Following Nokia's earlier jump into the PC world, when it introduced the less successful Nokia Booglet 3G Netbook back in August 2009, Nokia's first Windows tablet is the next try to finally bring the Nokia experience to a PC kind of device. The Nokia Lumia 2520 is said to be designed to work anywhere. It comes with a vivid 10.1" HD display that is designed to provide the best outdoor and indoor readability of any tablet. Building on Nokia's rich mobility heritage, the Lumia 2520 combines both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 6.7 megapixel camera, and for the first time ever on a tablet, ZEISS optics.

During today's Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, Nokia unveiled a portfolio of two new large screen Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones - the Lumia 1520 and 1320 - which are said to continuing the redefinition of smartphone innovation. With its 6" screens and the latest software advancements for Windows Phone, the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 1520 are said to perfectly suit for entertainment and productivity. A new third column of tiles on the home screen means people can see and do more on a larger screen. EARLY ACCESS: Microsoft launches Windows Phone Preview for Developers - rolls-out GDR3 immediately

Following today's Microsoft announcement of the upcoming Windows Phone 8 Update 3 (GDR3), Microsoft also introduced the Windows Phone Preview for Developers. Windows Phone Preview for Developers gives developers and early adaptors access to prerelease builds of upcoming Windows Phone updates on dev phones - before the operating system update is generally available to consumers. With the update in hand early, Microsoft hopes that developers (and early adaptors) can use the time to exercise their code on the update and verify that the apps works as expected. That said, the new Windows Phone Preview for Developers is now distributing the previously mentioned GDR3 to enabled dev phones.

As Microsoft announced today, there are new features and innovations that Microsoft is ready to deliver with its upcoming Windows Phone 8 Update 3, which will roll out to existing phones over the next several months. For the latest official Windows Phone 8 update, Microsoft said it had three main engineering goals in mind: Enabling incredible new Windows Phone devices, enhancing the platform with new capabilities for current users and partners and improving the overall quality. All this results in the GDR3 which comes with support for bigger and higher-resolution screens, more powerful hardware, Driving Mode, new accessibility features, improved Internet sharing and much more (see bellow).
