Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:07 CET under 02 - Windows Mobile News

After countless partnership announcements between Microsoft and Dropbox, it took Dropbox a little bit longer to finally hit Windows Phone devices and Windows (RT) tablets but it finally happened. The Dropbox app is now available for Windows Phones and tablets and it was developed by Rudy Huyn, who is well known for his first class Windows Phone apps. The Windows Phone and tablet version comes with most features we already know from the Android and iOS clients. It allows to automatically back up photos to Dropbox, allows to mark files as favorites (aka offline mode) so you can get to them even when you don't have an Internet connection and last but not least it allows to access both your personal and work accounts at once.

Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:58 CET under 01 - General News

As HTC announced today via Twitter and personal invitations, the Taiwanese smartphone specialist is preparing to unveil its 2015 portfolio during this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. At least it's expected that it will be HTC's next high-end smartphone, following last year's HTC One (M8) which HTC didn't announced during the Mobile World Congress but through its own event in London. Nevertheless, the invitation headline reads "htc - utopia in progress" which is a clear indicator that HTC isn't going to talk about another "bread and butter" phone (as the company did at its last year's Mobile World Congress press event), but about something better and more exiting.

RUMOR: Is Amazon preparing for its European Amazon Fire TV Stick launch?
Posted by Arne Hess - at 16:40 CET under 01 - General News

Being an Amazon Fire TV Stick user, which I imported straight from the U.S. the day Amazon announced it last fall, so far the Fire TV Stick had no real function since Amazon isn't supporting it outside the U.S., with non-American user accounts. Sure you can side-load apps to it (something I did to make it useful), but Amazon prevented access to its VOD library which is included - free of charge - for Amazon Prime customers. However, this changed this week since Amazon seems to have changed a server-side configuration since the company hasn't issued a firmware update. Since this week, German Fire TV Stick customers can see and access the Prime VOD library and can even playback the content their.
