Ever, since I've used MHL the first time back in 2011 (when I did a project in Angola), I was fascinated from the easiness and usefulness of this new standard, which connects compatible smartphones (at the moment, Android only) with flat screens via HDMI. As a matter of fact, this allows to mirror the smartphone screen in high-definition, up to 1080p, plus Dolby 7.1 audio output. The fastest, and the easiest way to connect a smartphone to a HDMI equipped flat screen is a simple MHL-HDMI adapter with connected HDMI cable. Ever thought about connecting your phone to your TV or office monitor to show your family or colleagues some photos or videos? Think no longer but just do it because if you own one of the newer Android smartphones, chances are high that it features "MHL" which is the acronym for "Mobile High Definition Link". Founded as the MHL Consortium in April 2010 by Nokia, Samsung, Silicon Image, Sony and Toshiba, MHL is an industry standard for a mobile audio/video interface which allows to connect mobile phones and tablets to high-definition televisions and audio receivers. The standard supports up to 1080p/60 HD video and 7.1 surround sound audio output while simultaneously charging the connected device and even allowing to remote control it through a single Remote Control unit.

It's not a secret anymore that I love bags for a long time and my most favorite bag brand today is Timbuk2; and yes, I have a personal fable for the bags from San Francisco. Somehow, a gadget user, traveler and professional has to carry all the stuff, like during this week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and Timbuk2 gave me from day one what I was looking for. While Samsung's latest hero and focus device at the current Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is the company's new Note 8.0, Samsung is also showing its new HomeSync media hub solution which plays - well, as expected - quite nice with Samsung's own Galaxy smartphones. HomeSync, which runs on Android Jelly Bean, comes with a 1 TB drive that allows users to sync with multiple devices (from phones to tablets to PCs) and providing a shared and private storage space for all kind of content. It supports eight separate accounts to cover a whole family, and allows each user to upload and download content from multiple devices and instantly share with other family members.

At today's press event in London, where HTC unveiled its new Android smartphone - the HTC One - I also had some quality time with HTC's latest flagship device.
