Following
yesterday's
partnership announcement between HTC Cooperation and China Mobile, the
Chinese carrier also unveiled the first handset which takes benefit from the
partnership: It's the HTC Qilin which will be sold under Dopod's brand as the
T8388. The Qilin will be powered by a TI OMAP 3430 CPU at 600 MHz and will run
on Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. It's said that the T8388 will feature GSM/GPRS/EDGE
as well as China Mobile's TD-SCDMA standard as well as WiFi b/g and SiRF AGPS.
Bluetooth isn't mentioned at all. The device will feature a 3.6" WVGA
touchscreen and is backed-up by 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM which can, most
likely, expanded with microSD memory cards.

In addition to the 5 megapixels autofocus camera on the back, the device will
also feature a front facing VGA camera. Further features include gravity
sensors, light sensor, proximity sensor and support for CMMB mobile TV.
The Dopod T8388 is expected to be released anytime December 2009.
