Today,
O2 Germany
announced the O2 Xda Diamond 2, the successor of O2's
Xda Diamond the
company introduced last year. The Xda Diamond 2 is based on
HTC's Touch
Diamond2, the company announced back in February at the Mobile World
Congress. Like the Touch Diamond2, the Xda Diamond 2 evolves the compact design
and iconic style of the original HTC Touch Diamond. It runs on Windows Mobile
6.1 Professional, features GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA, WiFi,
Bluetooth and aGPS and incorporates a 3.2" WVGA display and a 5 megapixel
camera. The device also includes a new touch sensitive zoom bar for even faster
zooming of Web pages, E-Mails, text messages, photos or documents.

Furthermore, O2 Germany's latest Xda features HTC's new TouchFLO 3D
experience which combines a people-centric communication approach and HTC's new
Push Internet technology.
With fifty-percent better battery life, expandable memory, gravity sensor and
an ambient light sensor, the Xda Diamond 2 brings the most sophisticated
capabilities to a broad consumer audience looking for the professional benefits
of a smartphone without sacrificing size, looks or functionality.
O2 Germany furthermore confirmed that a free of charge
Windows
Mobile 6.5 upgrade will be available for the device, as soon as available
form Microsoft and HTC.
As always, also this Xda comes SIM-unlocked and decently branded with just an
O2 logo on the battery cover. The Xda Diamond 2 will be available from next week
for 420 Euro (without a contract) or 17.50 Euro per month with O2 Germany's new
O2 My Phone service.
With the O2 Mobile Flat, it will be available for 49 Euro, with the O2
Inklusivpaket for 79 Euro (both are 24 month postpaid contracts).
Cheers ~ Arne
