While Vodafone canceled the 920 Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone, it seems Europe's #1 carrier sticks on the Samsung SGH-i640 which Vodafone announced as a Christmas device before as well. The i640, which appeared now on Vodafone UK's coming soon section of devices, is the same Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone as the SGH-i620, except it's sporting a silver, Vodafone exclusive design. Other features are triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, singleband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR but no WiFi. Last but not least it features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2 megapixel main camera and a second front facing camera for UMTS video telephony:

Vodafone hasn't given a release date yet but a availability during January is most likely.

Hi all,

it's allready out on Vodafone Portugal, dfor about 15 days now.

it's retaling for €349, on a pre paid card.

so far it works great, WM6 satandard, no office editting...shame!!260k color screen.
Acessories:
- wall charger
- data cable
- Two Batteries, one exteneded
- two back covers also, like the i600
- stereo Headphones.

I think it has got bigger screen than SGH-i620 as well - 2.0" vs. 2.4" as far as I know

it's been on sale in the UK since 01 december (from vodafone direct).  Mine has gone back though as no GPS and no Carousel :-(, back to my i600 now and hoping for an i616 (or a european Blackjack II!) in 2008!!  If anyone wants some info/pics I made some posts over on MoDaco. http://www.modaco.com/content/Samsung-i … -Enabled-/
