Following earlier information and confirmations, today, during the CommunicAsia in Singapore, Samsung has announced three upcoming Android smartphones for Europe and Asia/Singapore. While two of the phones, the Galaxy 3 (GT-I5800) and Galaxy 5 (GT-I5500), are pretty much entry phones, the third one, the Galaxy Beam (GT-I5820), is quite unique since it features a built-in pico projector! All three Android smartphones come with Android 2.1 and quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA at 900/2100 MHz, Bluetooth WiFi GPS/aGPS support and an FM radio. However, the Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 differentiate in terms of the touchscreen and camera.
While the Galaxy 5 has the higher number, it's lover speced. It will only feature a 2.8" QVGA capacitive touchscreen as well as a 2 megapixel fixfocus camera with photo LED, and supports Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi b/g.
The Galaxy 3 on the other hand will feature a 3.2" WGVGA (240 x 400) capacitive touchscreen and comes with a 3 megapixel autofocus camera supporting Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi b/g/n
The Samsung Beam features a built in pico projector and features a 3.7" AMOLED touchscreen and a 8 megapixel autofocus camera.
All three smartphones will features Samsung's new TouchWiz 3.0 user interface and support the full range Google mobile services, including Google Search with Search by voice, Google Maps, Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Google Talk and Android Market.
While the Samsung Galaxy 3 and Galaxy 5 were announced to start selling in European and Asian markets from July, Galaxy Beam will launch first Singaporem anytime July.
