HTC and Samsung are both giving its HTC One and Galaxy S III customers extra Dropbox space if you either create a new account or login to your existing account from your new Android smartphone. This gives users either extra 23 GB (HTC) or even 50 GB (Samsung) space for two years, in addition to Dropbox's original and free 2 - 18 GB. But for sure, there's one question left: What happens to your data after the two years? Well, today nobody knows what happens within the next two years. Dropbox might be either overtaken by another company, the service might shut down or the general Dropbox size might be increased to anything TB-size or whatever, but as of now the plans are the following: Your data won't get lost and you will still have access to all your uploaded files!
As we just get confirmed, your account will be indeed reduced to the size you had before you got your extra HTC and/or Samsung benefit which means you won't be able to upload any further files to your Dropbox account. However, even more important, you'll be still able to access and download all your files, so everything is safe.
