Sure, Windows Phone comes with its own cloud storage called SkyDrive which will also works great with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 OS as well as with Office 2013. But maybe you are not sold to it because you got 50 GB free Box storage from HP or Sony before? Well, available before for Android, iOS and inbuilt into webOS, Box is now also officially available for Windows Phone! As announced yesterday on Box's own blog, Box offers a fully native experience for Windows Phone that has all the features users might expect from Box, but there's even more. Box for Windows Phone allows to collaborate from anywhere.

In addition to being able to access and view content, Box users can also invite colleagues to work with in folders, leave comments and share links to content right from the app.

The Mobile search allows to search the Box account right from the phone to find critical content in seconds. It's just as simple as tapping the search icon in the application bar. File management  allows deleting, moving and naming folders or files is a breeze, and users can even do these actions in bulk! For sure, Box comes also with a minimum of security in mind and therefore has the team included an application-specific passcode lock as an extra layer of protection to keep prying eyes off sensitive Box content.

Further Windows Phone goodies include the design to really take advantage of Windows Phone's unique characteristics and capabilities. It allows to pivot between files, updates and collaborators, start slideshows for images just like in the Pictures Hub and even pin Live Tiles to the Start screen to see when someone has left updates on Box. In addition to all this, the app was translated into into Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

Box for Window Phone is now available free of charge from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Cheers ~ Arne
