APPROVAL: GCF approves the HTC PB76100 Legend Android Smartphone

Right after last week's Mobile World Congress, the Global Certification Forum approved last week's announced HTC Legend, which the GCF lists as the "PB76100" (which is quite interesting because so far, the GCF used to use HTC code-names but maybe HTC wants to make it harder to guess which device was just approved). In any case, the GCF doesn't unveil anything new but just confirmed that HTC's next Android smartphone will feature quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 900/2100 MHz which makes a North American launch anytime soon unlikely.

As HTC said in Barcelona, the HTC Legend will be available in Europe through Vodafone and in the direct channel beginning in April and the GCF approval backs this timing up.

Cheers ~ Arne
