First
time I
wrote about i-mate's new Ultimate range of Windows Mobile smartphones back
in February and it looks like,
as previously announced by i-mate, the first device is ready to ship soon.
The i-mate Ultimate 6150 just got the FCC approval which is necessary to sell it
in the U.S.
Featuring Windows Mobile 6 Professional, this smartphone is powered by an
Marvell Bulverde CPU at 520 MHz, sporting quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as
triband UMTS/HSDPA at 850/1900/2100 MHz or 850/1700/2100 MHz. It even features
WiFi b/g/e/i as well as Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

Furthermore, the Ultimate 6150 sports 256 MB ROM and 128 MB RAM which can be
extended with microSD cards, Direct Video Out XGA, a 2 megapixel camera and a FM
radio.
While I'm still not a big fan of this Champaign colored housing, i-mate told me
during the 3GSM World Congress that the final version will be released in
silver.
Talking about availability: So far it's not announced and also the price is
unknown yet. Hope we will see it in the market soon, latest in September - as
said by i-mate before.
Cheers ~ Arne
