After
Microsoft
first demoed Silverlight for Windows Mobile back in May last year and Nokia
recently unveiled plans to integrate it into its phones as well, Microsoft
now unveiled that Windows Mobile should gets some Silverlight love later this
spring as well.
According to Microsoft's Silverlight Mobile fact page, a first Developer CTP of
Silverlight for Mobile will be available in 2nd Quarter of 2008 targeting
Windows Mobile 6. Like on the Desktop, Silverlight for Mobile will take the form
of a browser plug-in but featuring Silverlight 1.0 only (Microsoft just released
Silverlight 2.0 for desktop computers).

application) featuring Silverlight 1.0.
It's not yet known, how Microsoft will distribute Silverlight for Mobile and
if it will be available for ODMs and therefore for ROM updates only or as
stand-alone application which enhances Internet Explorer Mobile on its own.
