The
Canadian operator today announced the launch and availability of the
Samsung
SGH-i616 (aka the
BlackJack II) and
the Motorola Q9h Windows
Mobile 6 Standard smartphones. According to Fido, its
customers can now make sure they 'never lose out on anything', with unlimited
personal E-Mails available with most popular domains, 3G high-speed mobile
browsing and the ability to view and edit Word and Excel documents and view
presentations on Windows Mobile 6 Standard powered devices, the Motorola Q9 and
Samsung JACK. Customers will be able to view and send Microsoft Office
documents, plus send and receive unlimited E-Mails from up to 5 E-Mail accounts,
including Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail and other POP3/IMAP4 and Microsoft Exchange
accounts.
 
"The typical Fido customer is a hip and young professional," said Patrick
Hadsipantelis, VP, Marketing, Fido. "They are social urbanites who are
constantly on the go and need to stay close to friends and colleagues. The
addition of the Windows Mobile 6 devices to our portfolio offers our customers
tremendous value in terms of unlimited E-Mails and the ability to access
information and content that is relevant to them, whenever and wherever they
are."
The Motorola Q9 retails for CAD$ 275 on a three year contract plus Windows
Mobile option. The Samsung JACK retails for CAD$ 225 for a three year contract
plus Windows Mobile option.
Windows Mobile plans start at CAD$ 15 for 2 MB and unlimited E-Mails to most
popular domains including Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail. For a limited time,
customers who sign up for a Windows Mobile plan will also receive 3 months of
unlimited mobile browsing.
