Just one week after Palm released its updated Facebook client for its webOS smartphones, Palm has recently launched another update - but this time as a Beta only and through the App Catalog's Beta channel. Version 1.1.1 isn't an official update yet but will make it an official one as soon as all bugs are fixed. It comes with a couple of handy feature-enhancements like video support which allows you to play videos from your news stream (Facebook started to encode their videos into the H.264 format, and for those that they have encoded, you will be able to watch) or shortcut keys for power users who want to be able to access areas in the app as quickly as possible.

With the new shortcut-support, you can now jump to different sections by holding down the SYM key and N = news stream, P = photos, S = search, I = inbox, U = your profile and E = events which is particularly handy for Pixi users where the keyboard is always just there.
Also updated are the comments where your comments are now colored blue to make them stand out as well as access to updates in Facebook mail where you can now access the updates messages, joining messages and sent mails.
Last but not least, the Beta features a couple bug fixes and enhanced error checking on the Facebook API. Still not yet implemented are background notifications for comments or Like's.
Palm said it will update the Beta channel pretty frequently which means user can expect frequent Facebook updates. However, since the Beta version and full version are distributed on two different channels, cou can install both versions in parallel and use them independently.
Cheers ~ Arne
