CHANGE: Microsoft changed Bluetooth Addressbook Sync with Windows Phone 7 NoDo

While Microsoft released a very informative change-log before it rolled-out its NoDo update for Windows Phone 7, it looks like there are more under the hood change than officially described. One of the changes seems to affect the addressbook sync with Bluetooth car kits. Prior NoDo, Windows Phone 7 correctly synchronized all contact's phone numbers under the contact's name, however doesn't matter how Windows Phone 7 was configured to sort, in my tests all contacts where shown as last name, first name. Now, with a NoDo updated Windows Phone, synchronized contacts are sorted first name last name. However, Windows Phone 7 is now creating one contact name for each phone number:

Before NoDo, Windows Phone synchronized all contact's phone numbers under a single contact's name, showing which kind of phone number each number is about (mobile, home, work, work fax):

After NoDo, Windows Phone synchronizes each phone number to a new contact name:

That's definitely one step forward but two steps backward! Before, voice dialing a contact was a little bit unusual because I had to say "call hepp achim". Now I can use "call achim hepp" which is - at least for me - the proper way to call a contact's name. However, my car system is now listing several Achim Hepp's and I have no idea which row contains the number I want to dial! It becomes even more annoying if the contact is also a Facebook contact because that adds an extra entry too!

Has anyone else noticed this changes after the NoDo update? I was using a Samsung Omnia 7 and an HTC 7 Mozart with an Audi A5 3G Bluetooth car kit, synchronizing through the Bluetooth Hands Free Profile (not Remote SIM Access Profile/rSAP).

Cheers ~ Arne
