Today,
O2 Germany unveiled the release date and price for its upcoming webOS-based
Palm Pre, which
the operator
will offer exclusively in Germany and other European countries.
Palm's webOS platform
brings mobile applications together in an intuitive and multitasking
environment. The Palm Pre itself impresses with its smooth, elegantly rounded
and ergonomic design and a full QWERTZ keyboard which users slide out only when
needed. Thanks to the design of Palm Pre the phone feels natural in the hand and
is so small that it comfortably fits in every pocket. When closed, the device is
ideal for phone calls, web surfing or listening to music and watching videos.

When the keyboard is open, it is optimized for writing E-Mails and text
messages. With its curved slider and gesture-controlled touch screen interface
Palm Pre fuses exquisite design with the revolutionary Palm webOS software for
fast access to content on the device or web.
O2 will offer free choice of contract for Palm Pre in Germany, when launched on
October 13th. With the new concept O2 My Handy customers can finance Palm Pre
independent of the contract at zero percent interest rate. Customers make a down
payment of 1 Euro in the O2 shop or online at www.o2online.de and pay the
remaining sum in 24 monthly rates of 20 Euro each; which means the GSM/UMTS Palm
Pre will costs - without a contract - 481 Euro.
Cheers ~ Arne
