While Windows Phone comes with Facebook pre-integrated, out of the box, for some users nothing compares to a dedicated stand-alone application and therefore there's also a Facebook app for Windows Phone available. Now, Facebook Microsoft (which is actually developing the Windows Phone Facebook app) gave a sneak-peek of it's upcoming Facebook version for Windows Phone and posted on Facebook - where else - what v2.5 will bring: "We read every comment you submit on Facebook, through E-Mail, and through the Marketplace, we use them to plan features for releases and we really appreciate all the work you put into feeding back. We're listening :-)". And Facebook Microsoft mentioned, that the team worked hard over the past few weeks on building the next version and is now getting close to release.

Facebook for Windows Phone v2.5 will bring a couple of worthy enhancements, users of Windows Phone might have missed so far and this includes full Facebook threaded messaging including group messaging, all in a beautiful Metro style design, the ability to tag friends and locations in posts in the "with" and "at" format, the possibility to delete posts and comments, the possibility to tap on links in posts to go directly to the content, as well as updates to the photo comments and likes page which means that the photo comments and likes page get an updated to match the posts comments and likes page. And finally - by popular demand - Windows Phone users will soon be able to "like" comments.

Facebook Microsoft says that it's just going through the final rounds of testing and sign off, then it will be able to share it with the world. While no release date was given yet, it shouldn't take to long anymore, after such a public announcement.

Cheers ~ Arne
