It won't be long anymore until Microsoft's new gaming console, the Xbox One, will be available. And right ahead of the anticipated launch, Microsoft has already released its Xbox One Windows Phone companion app which is called Xbox One SmartGlass. Like Xbox SmartGlass for the Xbox 360, it connects to and controls the Xbox One and allowing to stay connected with content, games and gamers. Within the living room, Xbox One SmartGlass allows to navigate a Xbox One console using the Windows Phone's keyboard and touch, allows to control media and connected set-top box, browse the web on the connected TV straight from the Windows Phone and enhancing what is watched or played with SmartGlass companions.
In the living room or on the go, Xbox One SmartGlass allows to search, browse and pin content to play on the Xbox One console as well as track achievements, get game help, message friends and watch game DVR clips.
Xbox One SmartGlass is now available free of charge from the Windows Phone Marketplace and requires - for sure - a Microsoft Xbox One.
UPDATE: Right after Microsoft released the Windows Phone Xbox One app, it has also released the PC companion app which is compatible with Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.
Cheers ~ Arne
