Following
the second ROM
update earlier this month,
Samsung just
announced and released another firmware update for the
Galaxy GT-I7500.
According to Samsung's press information, the new Galaxy ROM (I7500XXII5_VIAII5)
is still Android 1.5 (Cupcake) but should again improve the device snappiness,
stability and improved battery run-time. Furthermore, the digital compass was
improved to work better with applications like Google Maps, Sky Maps and
Wikitude. Also it's possible now to send bitmap MMS messages. Like the previous
ROM update, this ROM update also includes the new "Switcher" application.

Also improved was the screen-unlock by reducing the unlock-time to 0.5
seconds. The new ROM is now available via Samsung's New PC Studio and Samsung
recommends a factory reset after the ROM update was applied.
