As promised back in December, Nokia has released its second software update for the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone which has started to being rolled-out yesterday. The update, which will update the firmware on on the Lumia 800 to version 1600.2483.8106.11500, delivers two key improvements: the expected and necessary battery performance enhancements and WiFi connectivity enhancements. Furthermore it comes with the previously released improved Mailbox notification and improvements for Windows Phone 7.5's "Local Scout" functionality which Microsoft introduced with Windows Phone Mango. Other than that, Nokia hasn't given any further details about the update.
As always, the update won't be delivered to every Lumia 800 simultaneously, but rather will be staggered over the next weeks through Microsoft's standard update process. This helps each owner gets the update without any hitches. Around half of owners will get the update in the next seven days, with the remainder over the following seven days.
Cheers ~ Arne
