Following
last weeks first information about the so far unannounced Asus M930 Windows
Mobile smartphone, GPSAndCo got further information about Asus new Nokia
Communicator-look alike smartphone.
As expected, it's indeed running Windows Mobile 6 Standard (non-touchscreen)
instead of Professional (touchscreen) but the screen resolution of the inner
display is quite interesting, according to GPSAndCo it's 400 x 240 pixel. Now I
wonder which 3rd party application is supporting this - out of the box.
Other specs stays pretty much unchanged, therefore the Asus M930 is supporting
triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE only as well as singleband UMTS/HSDPA up to 3.6 Mbps, WiFi
b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The absence of GPS is also confirmed now.

Quite unusual for UMTS devices is the used CPU, a TI OMAP2 2431 at 400 MHz
instead of a Qualcomm chip; while the TI OMAP2 2431 shouldn't be confused with
the Windows Mobile Standard typically used TI OMAP 850. The devices features a
3.2 megapixel main camera with autofocus and 256 MB ROM/64 MB RAM. At a weight
of 158 g, the M930 measures 11.3 x 5.4 x 18.7 cm.
While a release date wasn't given yet, it's expected to arrive during Q1 2008
with an official announcement during the Mobile World Congress in February.
