It's
not a Bird, it's not a Plane, it's the Palm Treo 500 we knew so far as the
Treo 800w. Looks
like someone at Dutch retailer The Phone House was too excited about Palm's
rumored and
(most likely) soon to be released Windows Mobile smartphone that it was
unveiled already.
While the specs a still a little bit blurry, the photo isn't blurry anymore and
it shows the same device
we've seen month ago already. Featuring Windows Mobile 6 Standard, the Palm
Treo 500 is indeed Palm's first non-touch screen smartphone but still sporting a
QWERTY keyboard for easy text entry:

The Treo 500 is expected to have a 2 megapixel camera, QVGA (240 x 320) non-touch screen, 150 MB of memory and 3G wireless data connectivity (even if it is unclear yet
if it means UMTS only or UMTS and HSDPA). No word yet about WiFi but Bluetooth
seems to support v2.0.
With 110 x 61 x 16 mm, the Treo 500 is said to be 6 mm (or about 25%) thinner
than Palm's current Windows Mobile/UMTS super-star, the Treo 750.
That's all we know for know but we might see and hear more this week.
Cheers ~ Arne
