The Boy Genius Report got its hands on some information regarding a Windows Mobile 6 Standard smartphone from Pantech. According these information (which are proved by two spy-shots The Boy Genius got its hands on as well), the Pantech C810 features a "Helio Ocean"-like dual-sliding mechanism which seems to include a 12 key numeric keypad as well as a full QWERTY keyboard (kind of a mix between a HTC Vox and a standard slider smartphone). The Boy Genius Report isn't yet clear if it is a UMTS (only) phone or if it will also features HSDPA but UMTS seems to be confirmed:
About as long as the Ocean, yet thinner, the Pantech C810 will accept microSD
memory cards and features the Windows Mobile typical 65k color screen (no
word about the resolution but QVGA seems to be most likely). Also no word yet
about WiFi support (but there is no WiFi indication on the photos above).
According to The Boy Genius Report a price of US$ 249.99 or less with a 2 year
agreement seems most likely as well. Release date is looking like Q4, but might
come as early as late September but the carrier is unknown yet (maybe AT&T,
that's at least the carrier shown above).
Well, that's an interesting concept - the dual-slider concept and the Pantech
C810 would be the first of its kind Windows Mobile dual slider.
UPDATE: As it turned out, the device name isn't C180 but C810.
Cheers ~ Arne
