MESSAGING: Pocket Presence is working on a new SMS Client

Pocket Presence, the guys behind Running Voice GSM, Running Voice IP and One-Click Mobility are currently Beta testing its latest GMS tool - a SMS client with EMS support!

"We are about to release a new SMS client for Pocket PC, named SMS Manager. The reason that we release an SMS client these days, when most people are thinking about MMS and other cool stuff, is that we have had several inquiries for an SMS client as part of our One-Click Mobility offer."

Some Features

  • SMS and long SMS
  • EMS text editing and EMS text viewer
  • Outlook Contacts integration

The most impressing feature for sure is the EMS support. While a lot of modern handsets support EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service - an evolution of SMS but not so fancy like MMS), today no Pocket PC SMS client supports this so it's great that at least one developer thought about supporting this GSM feature!
While we are talking about features I want to remind you that Pocket Presence's Running Voice GSM is THE GSM application for me: from the functionalities, from the UI and from the whole look and feel and I wish the Pocket PC Phone Edition would run like Running Voice GSM already work.

Currently SMS Manager is in the Beta phase but can be expected to be released soon. The SMS Manager will be part of the One-Click Mobility offer, but will be offered as a stand-alone product as well.

Cheers ~ Arne
