This news has been going around for a while now. But finally we can all try out MSN Web Messenger. I went to the website after seeing Paul of MoDaCo sporting a new MSN Messenger icon. So what is MSN Web Messenger? This is what the MSN Web Messenger homepage had to say about it.

MSN Web Messenger lets you talk online and in real-time with friends and family using just a web browser! Use it on any shared computer - at school, at work, at a friend's house or anywhere you can't install the MSN Messenger software.

Here are the icons we've grown to be very familiar with, and there is that extra icon in the middle there, the web icon for anyone logged in using MSN Web Messenger.

People on the other end will see you log in as such. Now isn't that cool?

Here is the main MSN Web Messenger interface. You can see at the top of the list is a list of who you are in a current conversation with. Just click on one of those contacts and the appropriate window pops forward.

The conversation window is simple enough but apparently exhibits a slight lag when replying. The most common items are there, from fonts, font color, emoticons, and styles.

This is currently in beta, but the full version of MSN Web Messenger will most likely be released later this year. MSN Web Messenger is designed to run on a desktop PC or a Laptop, it doesn't support Mobile Devices. Besides, Windows powered mobile devices have MSN Messenger built in already. :-)

You can head down to the MSN Web Messenger homepage to find out more about it. Give it a whirl and let the MSN Web Messenger guys know how you feel.
