This morning I had my first 30 seconds with yesterday's announced Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone, Sony Ericsson will release later this year.
As you can see in the video bellow, Sony Ericsson added their own user interface on top of Microsoft's original Windows Mobile user interface, quite similar what HTC does with TouchFLO.
This means that the user interface is present on the first level only and after all applications are based on Windows Mobile, as you might expect it anyway:

You will noticed in the video, that the device seems to be somewhat slow - sometimes. Sony Ericsson promised that this will be fixed with the release device, especially because the 520 MHz Qualcomm CPU should be powerful enough and Sony Ericsson also told me they will take benefit from the graphics hardware acceleration as available for Qualcomm chips.

Cheers ~ Arne

does the touch screen give you the iphone feel ?? or the usual pda feel ?

the Iphone has a hard screen and the pda has a comparitively softer screen and needs a stylus to touch

As of today, the screen doesn't seems to be a kind of bio touch display, as used for the Apple iPhone, HTC Touch's or Samsung i780 but it seems to be softer. Nevertheless, this could change for the launch later this year.
As you said I'm also not a big fan of the traditional toucscreens but I also prefer this kind of bio touch displays which you can use with a thumb instead of a fingernail/stylus.
