Following
our
earlier hands-on videoview of this week's announced HTC Touch Pro2,
yesterday I spent some more quality time with HTC's upcoming full keyboard
smartphone.
In the discussion with HTC I've mentioned that "Touch Pro" might be the wrong
name since the original
Touch Pro,
which also featured a slide-out keyboard, was way smaller and for me, the Touch
Pro2 is more a mix of the HTC TyTN II and HTC Universal. While HTC agreed that
the Touch Pro2 might comes closer to these two devices the decision to use the
Touch Pro2 naming was purely marketing driven:
Maybe this explanation gives you a better understanding what the HTC Touch
Pro2 will really be - a Windows Mobile power-house with great new features and
improvements as well as a really usable keyboard which is good for more than
just some small messaging. However, the larger screen and keyboard has its
price, the HTC Touch Pro2 isn't as small as the original Touch Pro was:
