Samsung
officially announced its new Android smartphone, the Galaxy Spica, which was so
far known as the Samsung
GT-I5700
Galaxy Lite. Running on Google Android, the Galaxy Spica isn't a
Google Experience phone at all. However, it comes with all Google Mobile
services including Gmail, Google Maps and Google sync. The device is powered by
a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and features -
according to the GCF - quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as dualband
UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA at 2100 and 900 MHz as well as aGPS and a digital compass.
  
The Samsung Galaxy Spica sports a 3.2" touchscreen and a 3.2 megapixel camera and is backed-up by 128 MB
of RAM, which can be expanded by microSD cards. The battery is said to be 1500
mAh.
According to Samsung, the Galaxy Spica will hit the Russian market in
November 2009 for 14,000 rubles which is something around 325 Euro. Samsung
hasn't yet confirmed the release in further European markets.
