i-mate today released a camera patch for their i-mate JAM Pocket PC Phone Edition (aka HTC Magician, which is - finally available for delivery from next week from PPCW.Net Shop also):

This patch was designed to improve the performance of the camera on the i-mate JAM. It improves the responsiveness of the camera when the shutter button is pressed as well as setting improvements of  the sensitivity under normal light conditions.

The patch is available for registered i-mate customers (like for PPCW.Net Shop customers) from i-mate's Club i-mate website with a size of 149 Kb.

Update instructions can be downloaded from Club i-mate as well.

Cheers ~ Arne

I installed the patch and it crashes my Today Screen.

The screen ist not refreshed anymore and is totally scrambled   :-(

The issue is not resolved after deinstalling the patch, too !!!

All you need to do is go to settings->today-> and then change to the other theme, and press ok.

Your screen will be back to normal. The just set it back to the one you want.

Wow, this update really seems to make the photos look alot better. Better exposure, less noise.  Very impressive.

[4] me too! It seems they don't like german IMEI-Numbers anyway.
Is there an existing link where I don't have to register and can just download the patch?

Thanks in advice.
