Looks
like the Windows Mobile business is doing better then some expect. HTC Corp.,
the world's leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart devices,
today celebrated its 10th anniversary with the grand opening of its new global
headquarters and R&D center.
But HTC hasn't celebrated this momentum alone but many of HTC's world-class
partners and customers from around the world attended the festivities in Taiwan,
which were hosted by Cher Wang, Chairperson of HTC and Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.
"When the Chinese say '10', it means perfection. After 10 years of
innovation, HTC has earned the respect of its customers and partners alike.
We will continue to expand the scope of collaboration with our partners to
bring more innovative products to the market," said Peter Chou, chief
executive officer of HTC.
"On behalf of Microsoft, I congratulate HTC on a very successful 10
years. Since the early beginnings of Windows Mobile, HTC has been a pivotal
strategic partner with whom we have enjoyed incredible success," said Pieter
Knook, senior vice president, Mobile Communications Business of Microsoft
Corp. "Together, we look forward to the next decade of innovation where
we'll continue to create devices that people cannot live without."
"T-Mobile strategically aligns itself with technology-leading partners to
provide exceptional value and experience to its customers. I would like to
express gratitude to Mr. Chou and the HTC team for their significant
innovation and R&D contributions, as well as their enthusiasm to support our
joint success story," said Christopher Schlaeffer, Group Product and
Innovation Officer of Deutsche Telekom.
HTC's new global headquarters and R&D center is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
The new building contains a number of state-of-the-art R&D laboratories that are
staffed by high-end design and R&D engineers dedicated to strengthening HTC's
research and innovative capabilities.
