Pocket Presence, the guys behind Running Voice GSM , are currently working on version 2.5 which enters the Beta stage right now.
The new Running Voice GSM version will also include some major features of the recently announced SMS application called "SMS Tool".

Main new features found in Running Voice GSM 2.5 are:

  • Data speed monitor and graph
  • Data speed icon in the Navigation bar
  • Support for EMS rich text (font size, bold, italic, underscore, etc.)
  • Enhanced message settings (Unicode, validity time, delivery report, etc.)
  • SMS Outlook integration (send messages from Outlook Contacts)
  • Support for export of SMS messages to a separate file
  • A third virtual COM port in Flexport for seamless usage of additional communication applications
  • Enhanced support for navigation with hardware buttons
  • Visualization of call direction in the Voicebox

Cause Running Voice GSM 2.5 is currently in the Beta only, it's not available right now but is expected to be released within the next weeks.
If only Microsoft had licensed Running Voice GSM for it's Pocket PC Phone Edition... :-(

Cheers ~ Arne
