MOTO Q fans accross the ocean had to wait forever for the release of Motorola's MOTO Q GSM version and finally, at the 3GSM World Congress, Motorola unveiled the long awaited MOTO Q q gsm. However, even if it comes with Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 6 operating system, it is a kind of outdated. Yes, it's sporting a QVGA display, but unlike the MOTO q9, it features GSM,  GPRS and EDGE only. However, the biggest disappointment is, that it misses WiFi capabilities which can be extended through SDIO WiFi cards anyway (something the MOTO Q q9 doesn't supports). Also the 1.3 megapixel camera seems to be a little bit outdated but anyway - I'm sure the MOTO q GSM will find its friends here as well:

If you can hardly await the Moto Q q gsm launch, you still have to wait a little bit longer. Even if the prototypes worked pretty good, we will not see it released before Q2 2007.
Anyway, as Motorola told me, it's unlikely, that the MOTO Q q gsm will be introduced in the same areas where the Moto Q q9 (the UMTS version) is introduced as well but the q gsm is designed for markets where UMTS isn't an option today.

Cheers ~ Arne
