Following last week's HTC S740 videoview, here we go with some more photos of HTC's latest Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard smartphone. As you can see bellow, the S740 is a mix of a standard smartphone and HTC's Touch Pro, featuring a mobile phone typical keypad as well as a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The whole device follows the HTC Touch Diamond design with a shiny mirrored front, including a very shiny keyboard which isn't - unfortunately - not too scratch resistant. The battery cover also features the HTC Touch Diamond typical diamond shape but it's not piano-glossy but more a kind of soft-touch surface. While the navigation-pad looks also similar to the HTC Touch Diamond directional-pad, it's not touch sensitive at all.

On the left side, the device features  the volume up and down keys while on the right side it features the camera shutter, something HTC left for all HTC Touch Professional smartphones, since the launch of the Touch Diamond (while earlier Touch smartphones had a dedicated camera shutter).

Overall, the HTC s740 is a rocking solid Windows Mobile Standard smartphone, designed for messaging addicts which prefer the combination of a standard mobile phone keypad (which can be also used for short messages, thanks to T9) and a slide-out keyboard for longer texts. Thanks to inbuilt GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA and WiFi it finds a connection virtually everywhere.

Cheers ~ Arne
