Last week's announced HTC Sensation is the latest Android power-house from the Taiwanese smartphone specialist! Also, it's HTC's first device which features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU at 1.2 GHz. Running on Android 2.3.3 and featuring HTC's brand new HTC Sense 3.0 user interface, the device supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE and triband UMTS/HSDPA (up to 14.4 Mbps)/HSUPA (up to 5.76 Mbps) at 900/1700/2100 MHz as well as Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi b/g/n and aGPS. The HTC Sensation also features a gyroscope, an accelerometer-, proximity- and ambient light sensor as well as a digital compass. The massive 4.3" and slightly curved Super-LCD touchscreen supports a qHD resolution at 540 x 960 pixel.

On the back, the device features a 8 megapixel autofocus camera with a dual LED flash which is capable to record full 1080p videos. The front facing camera supports VGA only. Furthermore, the device features the typical 3.5 mm stereo audio jack as well as a micro USB 2.0 port which supports mobile high-definition video link (MHL) HDMI-out. The Sensation comes with 768 MB RAM and 1 GB ROM which can be expanded through microSD memory cards.

Like many of the latest HTC phones, the HTC Sensation features HTC's unibody design, even if the Sensation isn't made out of one piece of aluminum but is only featuring an aluminum unibody construction. The device measures 126.1 x 65.4 x 11.3 mm and weights 148 grams, including the 1520 mAh battery which is said to be good for a stand-by time of up to 400 hours or a talk time of up to 495 minutes.

The HTC Sensation will be broadly available from mid of May exclusively for 4 weeks through Vodafone across major European markets; as well as it will also be available in Asian markets in Q2 2011. Without a contract, it will be available for around 599 Euro. Coming later this Summer, T-Mobile USA will launch it as the HTC Sensation 4G.

Cheers ~ Arne
