Announced back in May together with the Samsung Galaxy S III, the Samsung Galaxy S III LTE/GT-I9305 is Samsung's LTE version of its best selling premium smartphone; now available in Germany. Unlike the Galaxy S III which initially came with Android 4.0.4, the Galaxy S III LTE runs on Android 4.1.1/Jelly Bean, which is - for sure - enhanced with Samsung's own TouchWiz 4.0 UI which nevertheless plays nice with Jelly Bean. Unlike other LTE smartphones so far, the Galaxy S III is powered by a quad-core CPU which is Samsung's own Exynos 4412 Cortex A9 CPU, running at 1.4 GHz. The S III LTE supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, quadband UMTS/HSDPA (up to 21 Mbps)/HSUPA (up to 5.76 Mpbs) at 850/900/1900/2100 MHz and triband LTE (up to 100 Mbps/50 Mbps) at 800/1800/2600 MHz.

Also onboard are WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, aGPS/GLONASS and the smartphone-typical FM radio. Furthermore, the Galaxy S III LTE comes with the Android-typical accelerometer, gyroscope, RGB and proximity sensor as well as a digital compass and a barometer.

The Galaxy S III LTE sports a 4.8" Gorilla Glass 2 protected Super AMOLED HD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixel. The 8 megapixel autofocus camera on the back comes with a supporting flash LED and features simultaneous HD video and image recording, burst shot and best photo, HDR, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection and image . Videos can be recoded in 1080p HD with up to 30 fps. The front-facing camera has a resolution of 1.9 megapixel which allows to record 720p HD videos up to 30 fps.

It has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of flash memory which can be expanded with micro SD memory cards up to 64 GB. Like the Galaxy S III, the LTE version also features the more traditional Android button layout; left and right from the physical home button are the touch-sensitive menu and the back keys. The most recently used apps are opened by pressing and holding the center button and Jelly Beans' Google Now is launched by tapping and holding the menu key.

At a size of 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, the Galaxy S III LTE weights 131 g, including the 2100 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The Marble White Samsung Galaxy S III LTE above is launch-exclusive carried by Vodafone Germany.
