The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first Android smartphone, featuring Google's brand new Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich platform. Announced back in October, the Galaxy Nexus is Samsung's second Nexus smartphone which was developed for Google. Powered by a TI OMAP 4460 dual-core CPU at 1.2 GHz, the Galaxy Nexus comes with Android 4.0.1 and the 2G/3G version supports quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE as well as pentaband UMTS/HSDPA+ up to 21 Mbps/HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps at 850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz. Additionally there's a 4G version planned which supports North America's LTE 700 MHz networks. Both versions are also featuring WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, aGPS and RFID/NFC.

The Galaxy Nexus also comes with an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and light sensor as well as the Android typical digital compass but also a with a barometer. The 4.65" Super AMOLED curved contour display supports supports a massive HD screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel but the continuous autofocus camera with supporting flash LED supports 5 megapixel only but allows to record full HD videos at 1080p. The second front facing camera supports 1.3 megapixel and can be used for video telephony and video chats as well as face unlocking the password protected device. There are no hardware menu keys bellow the touchscreen, neither physical keys nor touch sensitive keys but the Galaxy Nexus features Ice Cream Sandwich's new buttonless menu keys concept which means that the three menu keys are now part of the display. The micro USB port is MHL compatible which allows to connect the device to HDMI TVs and USB compatible gamepads.

At a size of 67.94 x 135.5 x 8.94 mm, the device weights 135 g only - including the removable 1750 mAh Li-ion battery. It comes in two version with either 16 GB or 32 GB memory which can't be expanded with microSD memory cards.

The Titanium Silver Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now or soon available in the initial launch countries. It retails for around 549 Euro and
