Alright, it's time to pack the bags and leave the house. From tomorrow I will be in Göttingen for the next 2.5 days where Microsoft is holding möbius 2002. Like möbius 2001 last autumn in Redmond a lot of Pocket PC and PDA enthusiasts
will come together and talk with Microsoft staff about the latest developments. This time - I'm sure - the wireless world will be in focus while last year in Redmond the Pocket PC 2002 launch was in the focus.
Therefore I expect to give you some new views what Microsoft has in the pipe, what's hot and what's not. However, I'm not sure how the update of Pocket PC Writer.Net during the conference will works. When we was in Redmond we met on
the Microsoft Campus where we had W-LAN Internet access; this time we will met in a Hotel and I'm afraid that we will have some connection problems as every time you stay in a hotel. Thankfully it's in Germany and I'm fully equipped with GPRS phones and SIM cards (which will work for me as I don't have to use any
International Roaming for GPRS (called GRX)) and my lovely "old" Nokia Card Phone 2 which is HSCSD enabled to speed up any uploads with 28.8 KBps. Therefore I shouldn't run into any troubles (like the American guys who will attending the conference too) to access the web; but as every time it's a question of the
price. I think I will upload news one or two times a day only.
On Tuesday evening I will drive form Göttingen to Hannover where the CeBIT starts on Wednesday. I think we will also see a lot of new things there (but I hope to get my fingers on the latest stuff before at möbius) which I will cover here for sure for you. I hope the W-LAN, which should be available during CeBIT
will works, otherwise I have to use my wireless equipment again, which shouldn't be a problem by technology but by the access price. Come on, GSM/GPRS operators, why are your wireless access prices are so prohibitive? Don't you want that you customers access the Internet wireless?
Looking forward to see you here and for sure looking forward to see the latest gadgets within the next week.
Cheers ~ Arne
