It writes as well as any ballpoint, but also permanently records all your ideas, sketches, and notes:

  • Digitally capture handwritten emails, Post-it Notes, and more
  • Handwrite appointments and action items into Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes
  • Keep all your information organized in one place on your PC.

With the Logitech io pen, users can easily share, store, organized and retrieve their handwritten information by simply writing with ink on paper the way they have for thousands of years.

An optical sensor embedded in the pen captures the handwritten images, storing up to 40 pages in memory.

This captured digital information can then be transferred into the PC by synching the pen via a USB cradle. The Logitech io solution offers total mobility, since all that is necessary to carry is the pen and a digital paper notebook.

The Logitech io retail package will include the pen, a rapid-charging USB cradle, Logitech io Software, one Mead Cambridge Limited Digital Notebook, Post-it Software Notes-Lite and one pocketbook of Post-it Notes for Digital Pens from 3M, an AC adaptor and five ink refills

Using the Logitech io pen is as easy as 1-2-3
The Logitech io pen lets you quickly and easily capture, organize, and retrieve everything you write.

Take only your pen and paper wherever you go, then easily transfer information when you are back in the office.

Step 1

Use the Logitech io like a regular pen. It digitally captures everything you write or draw on our special digital paper: notes, ideas, sketches, drawings, email, calendar or to do list entries, and anything else.

Step 2

Place the Logitech io in the USB cradle to download your notes to your PC in their original, handwritten form.

Step 3

The Logitech io and its software automatically sort your handwritten notes by the boxes you checked on each page. Meeting notes and drawings go into file folders for easy organization and rapid retrieval. E-Mail is sent. Calendar and To Do entries are automatically added to your electronic organizer.

SRP: $199; Availability: November 2002.

Unfortunately it doesn't supports Pocket PCs right now with Bluetooth or IrDA or even better with both. However since BT is also involved into this project they might push Logitech to support Pocket PCs like the xda too!

Cheers ~ Arne
