Hewlett-Packard (HP) may suspend its cooperation with
as the Taiwanese ODM has repeatedly delayed shipments of the iPAQ 600-series
smartphone to the US vendor.
Interesting enough, the iPAQ 600-line is still expected to be released in
Europe, later this spring - together with the
also delayed iPAQ 900 Windows Mobile 6 Professional smartphone - while a
U.S. launch seems to be canceled.
According to the Chinese-language Commercial Times, one reason for the
cancelation is, that the the first series of 3.5G handsets undertaken by
Inventec Appliances failed to pass tests carried out by HP.
Now it makes me wonder how smartphones, which have failed tests in the U.S.
can be launched in Europe? I'm not sure but I either wouldn't bet on a launch
but if the iPAQ 600 and iPAQ 900 are launched in Europe, it wouldn't be my first
choice anymore - after I know it failed to pass HP's own tests.
